How much is rent on hackney?
Oxford hackney rent: renter pays mot, tax, maintainance, fuel, owner just pays plate renual and insurance.

Renter is a mug, owner should pay for everything except fuel, thats why you pay rent, and an extortionate rent at that, if cab breaks down owner is responsible for the repairs, the renter should carry out daily checks on lights tyres and fluid levels and report any problems to the owner

And I thought it was bad round here, like Skip said driver pays rent and puts fuel in and makes sure all is OK, owner pays everything else. Do the owners wear masks in Oxford?

btw, when I drove for someone else for a few weeks before buying the right to use a plate I was paying £150 for nights then, and that was in 1997.

I know a guy who has a VW lwb 9 seater on a 4 year "rent-to-buy" at £286 PW, that includes datahead/rent, insurance, plate, etc without any actual credit contract so in theory he could chuck the keys in and walk away

still £59,000 over 4 years

I dont no about private but in cabs we dont have rent,
Driver drivers a shift alongside the owner say driver days owner nights and its 50/50 between owner and driver but owner pays all expences and fuel,
driver drives and end of day/week or month he gives half to owner who pays fuel, insurance and other costs ...

I will tell you Thursday, just in case I'm wrong.
