im also in favour of ID cards, removal of illegal immigrants from the UK, no state benefits or NHS freebies for EU immigrants without 3 years of N.I. contributions, foreign driving licences only being legal to use here for 3 months, close scrutiny and control of "student" visas (and once expired the person should be flagged up as "wanted")

its time to stop the rot
To be fair Wannabe a democracy should mean that you have the choice if you wanna get involved, I,ve never liked Punch and Judie myself. I agree with your views on I.D cards and foreign licences but as for foreigners claiming benefits then N.I on 200 quid a week is only about £19, Times that by 52 weeks and then 3 years comes to about three grand. At £500 quid a month housing benefit alone then that's the 3 grand gone in six months so in my opinion give the N.I cont's back with a shiny ticket home.

I do have sympathy with that view.

It's what they do in a number of countries including Australia.

If there is a party that you really thought that they would make a difference then i'd probably go and vote but wouldn't it be worse just going along on Thursday and just picking any for the sake of picking one.

Didn't the monster raver die a few years back, I'd probably pick them if forced to cos he had a cracking top hat. Should dress them all in Jockey suits like the Grand Nash and then choose who has the best polka dots. Truth of the matter is I remeber growing up as a kid in Liverpool under Maggie the milk snatcher, my mar an dar never had a penny, highlight of the week was a fish cake between us on a thursday and they always vote labour. Then in 97 labour win the big one but the Lib Dem's won Liverpool so my parents have been every local and national election I can remember and still havn't picked a winner, what a waste of ******* time.

Wasn't that bothered about the milk really Toots, it was the wigwam shapeof it and the little pink wafer they stopped giving us that traumatized me for life.

no, a democracy means you have a vote

millions have died fighting for the freedom to vote, anyone not voting descrates the memory of those who paid the ultimate price

my point about 3 years without benefits is that the buggers wont hang about if they cant get a giro....and a £200 wage gets NI and tax deductions, roughly 25% = £50 a week, not £19 (HMG get it all, whatever you call it)
