I would love to do that but didn't want to upset anyone by placing there businesses on the site without there permission.

Wouldn't think twice about it, just do it.

They can always ask you to take them off.

once the listing in each area is full then companies will have to pay to be at the top of the list and to get above the freely listed ones.

so if you dont want to pay for your listings then the sooner you list freely on these sites the only way for a company to appear at the top or above you is to pay for the priviledge.

so what have you to loose...?

but if no one lists their company then these companies that provide the listings cant sell it on in the future so it becomes a redundant site but if you think its a good idea and worthwhile after all whats it costing you at the moment.......sweet fa.
nothing ventured nothing gained ...... even if it only got you 1 job every 3 months, its a job you wouldnt of had...?

I'm still to be convince there are many folks out there looking on the WWW for a local cab.

But I have been known to be wrong. Once I think about 10 years ago.

I remember that Sussex.

It was when you said taxis should not be restricted.

I'm afraid you might have to make that twice in 10 years Sussex  !
Although I do suppose it depends on what you consider "many folks" cos I must admit that based on how many people use taxi travel on a daily basis, this perhaps does not equate to that much... but that's not to say it's insignificant!

I'll give you some stats from my site based on google searches for a 3 month period.

I am not going to provide any specific criteria because there is an obvious competitor on this thread... Not that it actually matters to me because we are free & our free will always be free! No limited time offers etc... That said I wish grabataxi the best of luck... the more competition to keep prices down the better for you guys I would have thought???

Month 1 - 145'884
Month 2 - 156'265
Month 3 - 186'003
Total - 458'414

These are not necessarily or rather highly unlikely to be unique users, and similarly, this is only from stats based on my ad's. I'm sure there are keywords that I have not picked up and therefore a great deal more than this.
Based on the fact that there are approx 1600 towns in the UK, that's roughly 100 people/town/month searching... and not far shy of 2mil people/yr searching for taxi's on the web... And as the young get older and the older die  . This figure is only ever going to increase.

So, I wouldn't ignore it for too long... unless you fall into the "older" bracket!

Thanks JD! Although I should clarify that these are figures based on Google searches in which my ad's appear, and not my visitor traffic. And again, I think you could probably safely double it based on the other spurious search terms I see coming through from organic searches.

Just making the point that whether one likes it or not, it's only going to grow!

Cheers

Pete

I wish you all well, it's just that I don't think they will earn you that much cash in the long run.

And if they do, then bloody good luck.
