Except for councillors, I think most cab drivers realise that the TX2" is a complete waste of money.

I think LTI realise that too but they daren't say it. However TDO will say it for them.

The TX2 is extremely poor value for money.

There, my good friend Mathew Chainey of LTI will be extremely pleased that I had the courage that he lacks, to inform the UK Taxi trade that the TX2 is a vehicle that should be avoided.

Regards

Similarly I know a lot of lads who own the early 02's and 05 onwards who have had very little problems with their purchases.

There's bad one's and good ones, I remember similar stories about the TX1 when it took over from the Fairway, and again when the Nissan engine was put in the '88 stock, stories abound made an appearance.

Anyhow, that's why it comes with a 3 year comprehensive warranty.

Rest assured, I'll keep you all updated.

In all honesty, I'm quite confident about this particular vehicle, I found out who the previous owner was today, coincidence, as I know him.

I'll find out more history tommorow.

The garage proprieter in question let me down, I've just finished the auction on EBay (I resisted mentioning it on here) and it went for £7000.

That's £2k up on Mann and Overtons trade in offer, and £300 more than RandR Motors.

So that's me until the 27th, a visit to the artic next week will now be undertaken for roofing purposes.

Was thinking about tx2 myself but my area specifies it has to have abs, which obviously it hasn't found a lover ex rep 56 plate with 19k on the clock which seemed a good buy in comparison to asking price.

If you wait another year, there will be plenty of 3 year old TX4's coming onto the main dealers books, as a lot of drivers (London) tend to change them as the warranty finishes.

You could always rent a vehicle until you find a manufacturer you like. Leasing is also all the rage nowadays.

Mine went of to it's new owner today.

He drives a train. He's still stuck at Stow when they nicked all the tracks.

At the moment a Kia Carens as a hack, next will be the Kia ceed SW if the deals right, if not back to Skoda they are bringing out the hatch version of the Superb in the next few months.

you mean the ghost train GBC, at a public meeting they had a vote to gage the reaction 88% against reinstating it  but as yet they are still going ahead with it

My mate drives a tx2 he bought brand new, 50000 miles on the clock and not one problem with it. He does have it serviced regular.

Well so far so good, it's a nice cab. The last owner done it proud. Only three defects to be corrected. :D

The moment of pride was somewhat dashed after finding out that the 'drink spiker' was in fact a licensed London Taxi driver. I was told otherwise last week, apparantly the accused initialy used false details.

The last known case was back in the late 1980's / early 1990's where a recently qualified driver was done for a sexual assault after giving himself up.

1 every 20 years (out of 25'000 licensed drivers) whilst one too many, still rates us the safest form of Taxi transport in Britain.

My fear is with the socialist dictator pushing for more immigrants to do the 'quicky' knowledge, it won't be long until someone with an uncheckable history does the same again.
