We went to Tunisia a few yerars ago with some friends. My mate told me that the aircon wasn't very good in his room, it was fine in mine. I went and had a look and he had the window wide open. I told him it wouldnt work very well as he was trying to cool the Sahara desert.

RAF giving us a fright last night

sounded like a clap of thunder going off overhead !

Sonic boom heard in Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire

Took me a few seconds to realise that you could hear the roar of the engines and that it had been a sonic boom

You whinging about the sound of freedom? Are you a commie?

Don’t live in Lincolnshire if you don’t like the sound of aircraft.

what are you on about ? So you reckon the sound of a sonic boom surprising you (and it is a pretty loud bang) means you are a commie ?

The weird ones are those who would rather see this country invaded by Russian aircraft than hear a bit of a loud noise from an aircraft sent up to turn them back. Common occurrence back in the 1950’s by the way. I didn’t fight in two world wars to see the country taken over by whiners like you…

If it was intercepting a Russian aircraft it would have headed east or north east and probably been over water when it passed the sonic boundary. The aircraft in question was heading south towards London and the south east suggesting it was probably an aircraft not responding to ATC rather than a the Russians testing our air defenses.
