I picked up at Birmingham airport at 01.00 this morning and went south on the M6. Why is there a 50 mph speed limit along the entire road past where I turned on to the M69. There are no road works on the road, there were no broken down vehicles on the road and no other incidents at all. The road was completely clear of any issues but still 50 mph.

our polling station being moved from the school hall to a small room at the side of the school. There were queues at the quiet time I picked to vote and apparently it was pandemonium earlier when it was busy. You have 3 people sat at the table issuing ballot papers and it was taking them nearly a minute to check ID and issue each one which is worrying as that polling station handles approximately 8 to 10 thousand voters. If the turnout isn't the lowest in post war history some people may not get to vote if they leave it till this evening.

Electoral commission says no more than 2,150 voters per polling station manned, (or personned) by four fewer if operated by three staff.
To process 8,000 voters@ one a minute would take five days or more.

I’ve told you a million times, don’t exaggerate!

Looks like there are 43 polling stations for a 80,000 registered voter population. 70% turnout? 20% postal vote? Can’t see how you could conclude one polling station can process 8,000 voters. Even with 4 3 desks, whatever they are. Pandemonium? I doubt it. Or are the residents of Stamford, like the England football team finding it very difficult to put a cross into the box?

Maths not your strong point then. Based on a 70% turnout with 20% of them being postal voted so only 50% of the total voters of 80,000 going to the poling stations means that 40,000 divided by 43 comes to an average of 930 per poling station.
Are you related to Diane Abbott?

damn planes that are going to arrive early when you can't get to the airport until late because you have to do the school run first.
