well they have to pay you either way, but for every £10 they get for a run you do, they only pay you £8, so your paying twice for your car

ive got to the stage now I just avoid them...I did one for years same kids, brilliant friendly a real pleasure and a decent job too...then they grew up and moved on

after that one ive done about 5 others i tolerate them for a week and just hand it back the kids are rude annoying and potentially dangerous some of the run we do round here without an escort are scandalous

Ive got no problem picking up disabled kids, kids with learning difficulties and what not but the only runs we seem to get lately are just naughty kids and it gets on your nerves

apart from school runs which we dont know how much they get only what they pay us....account work on our place just goes on the meter same as every other job

many years ago i used to work on account heavy firm and they used to take 5% administration fee off all your credit work

I was thinking the same if i took enough to pay a 400 rent and fuel id never consider doing anything else.....where we are its a struggle pay 225 and be left with an actual wage

400 thats some payment per week and i thought 225 was alot #-o

To clarify, £250 is for the cab & the rest is for the radio. That varies from Around £70 to £150 depending on the company.
There's no shortage of takers at that money either.

I have my own cab and I don't use a radio.

You can ask the county council how much the scool run is. This information is in the public domain.

This is still the centre of Europe's oil industry. There's no recession here.

There's quite a stiff knowledge test for a taxi or PH badge, same test for both. As a taxi driver can drive a PH, most go for a taxi badge.
Taxis outnumber PH by about 4 to 1 and Taxi numbers were limited last year with 100% WAV as of 2017

We have oil fields here as well and I don't mean under the sump of my cars. There are 2 oil fields within 5 miles of my house.

would it matter its not like they will pay the driver anymore .Knowing would just frustrate me if anything

like i say i very rarely do them these days all the decent jobs(in terms of kids/hassle as much as fare) seem to be taken,I dont know whats changed on the runs but they are becoming a real pain

the last few decent ones ive done have been a short term thing

For a 24/7 taxi rental down here the rates are about £500 a week. These motors are driven by people working 100 hours a week.

A week? FFs!

That ain't far off my monthly repayment for my Vito.

you used to just put the fare through as normal on what the mileage was there were no set rates for account work it was clocked as a normal job and then you would hand your weekly sheet in and it would have 5% taken off and you would collect the cash the following week.

now what these account holders were charged i neither know nor care because it was not my business, but we used to get normal fare - 5%
