knocking the proverbial head against a brick wall comes to mind.
Council steam rollering through legislation!
Now had 3 attempts at forming an association but always to much in fighting, not interested in the whole but their own individual petty squabbles.
The Council won't listen to individuals.
any advice would be appreciated.

Stay professional.

Do the job right.

Communicate with your LO.

That way you then get him on your side and you will be amazed that he will listen to you and maybe even respect you.

That way your views will get sway while the tossers keep arguing with each other over 20p.

Hello Niabd, please don't get too dis-heartened, because that's one of the massive problems in the HC/PH trade.

What you have to do is just to keep banging on. Something will come along that will have the drivers needing representation.

Talking of that, I note that you work in Eden district. Now I'm informed that it's a teeny weeny district of about 50,000 folks, and a small HC trade.

The question I wish to ask, is how on earth did Eden get into Phase 1 of the DDA?

Now perhaps that will help you get the trade together up there, the thought of having to pay up to £30,000 for perhaps 1 job a year.

P.S. Don't forget, please don't give up. Many of us have been there.

If at times you feel alone,
like a dog with a stale bone,
if all around are loosing thier head,
while you stay calm, and well fed,

if the troublesome, quarell,
you have them over a barrell,
so the council are active, altering rule,
and you feel stubborn as a mule.

just stand back and have a think,
if neccesary take a stiff drink,
what is it you do not aggree,?
is it realy inevitable the rule has to be?

to stand toggether all as one,
hides the discontent in all of son,
to disaggree is not so strange,
so some must give a little to arrange

God made us each different,
so life is that much challenging, dont over vent
lift thine head leader you doth shine,
tommorrow you will be a champion of mine.

The implementation of Phase 1 in your area Niabd, could well be the answer to your woes.

If the trade doesn't unite around such issues as having to pay vast sums for something you may never need, then Mr Apathy has won.

I would expect your council to be very supportive if you wished to challenge your inclusion into Phase 1.
