If there is anyone reading this that has first hand knowledge of Paton's vehicles or who drives any of these models and who could give me some guidance, I would appreciate it.

The Merc makes sence as it will hold value better and make you feel better in yourself owning it for the prestige badge alone.

I am not knocking the post but do not forget...........if you buy a Merc! then you are going to pay big bucks for servicing and big bucks for parts when things start going wrong.

Have a look at the Nissan alternative, much nicer vehicle, 2 lads I know have them and they haven't had any issues with them yet.

With them all being much of a muchness I think the thing to be looking for is the warranty cover given with the vehicle. I did find one of the Euro Cabs with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty but I can't find it now, if I do I'll letl you know

IMO the vehicles themselves are all much the same, if not exactly the same.

I think the only difference is the quality of the conversion, and some are really s**t.

Clearly you will need to decide if you want air-con, underfloor ramp etc etc, as that pushes the price up.

The only taxi show is the Coventry one in May, so can you wait?

If not at the last one I went to I think the cheapest good one was the Scotscab. They had a very cheap basic model, and would simply just add on what you wanted and price accordingly.

As for Patons, they are as good or as bad as the rest of them, but they have an agent down here, Discovery I think, and they seem to be ok.

I thought that there was a cab show in the Liverpool area around September each year?
