more and more vehicles are being fitted with what is callled "turning corner lights"
two vehicles have now appeared in York on the hackneys with this system fitted

these are fitted as standard to some vehicle manufactures, and are used as you turn at low speed from stop , if you say turn right, the right fog light comes on then goes off as you straighten up, same when going left, the left fog light comes on, all for a few seconds

both drivers are now complaining that they are being constantly being pulled by local plod for having fog lights on and being threatened with being booked if it happens again

one driver didnt even know this system was fitted to his vehicle, it can only be turn off by dealer computer if the owner requires

anyone else seen them ??

My superb 2 has them...its a bit odd to catch the area left or right suddenly illuminate as you slowly turn....the Headlights also turn into the corner at slower speeds and they also extend the length of the beam as you speed up...never been hauled over yet, i guess they must be legal or theyed never be allowed in Law loving Britain..

I drove a friends Renault that had them.

A bit weird, it makes you think there's a loose connection in one of the headlights as lights come on and off. 8-[

That would explain the flashing fog loght I saw on a Merc today. Not a brilliant idea, IMHO.

Does the taxi test include going slowly around corners? If not then the tester would not know that this happens.

All mot testing stations should be up to speed on what is on vehicles or what is coming that is why they would have passed the cabs
