I dunno...but to me its black and white, you Hire a vehicle on behalf of yourself or on behalf of someone else that is going to drive it..just like Hertz, Rentacar or Enterprise does....they insure it for the hirer or his nominated driver.

No way should they hire you a vehicle them stick in a driver of their own...cos thats a bloody Taxi or a PH..doesnt matter a jot if its a reliant kitten or a daimler maybach... :?

simple.

If you are renting a HC/PH you will need HC/PH insurance.

It's not really that complicated. :?

Dunno what you are saying exactly, if you rent a PHC you need private hire insurance, if you rent HC you need Public hire Insurance, either way it should be included in the settle.

if you HIRE a car to DRIVE (yourSELF)....then you need self-drive insurance

it having a plate doesnt make it any different, except surely you need SDH insurance AND ph/hc insurance?

put it another way

i can hire a car off Enterprise, but id need H&R insurance to use it for PH/HC purposes, but Enterprise would still charge me SDH insurance
