I do my own thanks, A kind Tax Officer told me how to fill them in years ago when they first came out, he said that will save you £150 a year. I think his name was Ian Bishop from the Mansfield Office of the HMRC.

As for sleeping at night I have tablets for that problem.

I think it all depends on how complicated make their accounts.

To me it's quite simple, I take X and spend Y. Take one from the other and you pay tax on that.

Clearly write downs and previous losses can be used in a return, but I'm pretty sure most drivers should be able to do their own returns on-line.

Well your comments and sense of humour have brightened up a dull wet Northern day.

I am glad so many have got to grips with their returns and trust that the advice they have got or originally got has been of great service.

My thread was intended at those possibly less capable and offering what I believe is an excellent service. There was once an advertising slogan on tv 'don't ask what his name - see a solicitor'. I do not profess to have A-Z skills of a local cabbie in his given area - my skills are elsewhere.

With all due respect to the professions out there and advice givers, I am very highly experienced at compliance work within HMRC and the taxi industry in particular and understand the business and what HMRC 'expect'
