The Premier League clubs have thrown out a proposal to bring Celtic and Rangers into the English game. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this.My personal thought is the English game does not need them. One thing i would like to see is the Scotland and England games taken place again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT4Y9iu-4XQ |

It would be good for the old firm to play in the Prem and also for the smaller clubs because the old firms travelling supporters would fill the vacant seats at the likes of bolton whose chairman Gartside seems to be the main noise in all of this. This guy has an agenda and it's nothing to do with helping out the old firm it's more to do with the two tier non relegation which would suit the likes of Gartside of lack of investment, supporters as in Boltons case and also the safety bracket of not being relegated. This guy seems to want a fairer share of TV money but he should be thankfull of the support base of the bigger clubs that he gets any TV money at all. The two tier system would be the death of English and with Celtic/Rangers in it the death of Scottish grass roots football. |

If Celtic and Rangers were to join the premier league, that would mean 2 less places for English clubs. This would impact down through every division of league and non league football on the pyramid system. I would guess that a few of the Scotish teams rely on the income from visiting supporters from these teams to help balance their books and to lose that revenue would be a big blow to them. The flipside could mean a couple of other Scotish teams playing in europe and earning money from that but I would guess that if Celtic and Rangers were not in the scotish league some european places may go as well. |

let them in, please let them in. I live for the day the media is no longer dominated by the OF. FFS a Sellic or Rangers player sneezing makes the back page ahead of any game played between any 2 teams outwith "the BIG 2" The fact is if, and it's a big IF, Sky wants them to join an EPL2 or whatever it'll happen. Then the othe 40 teams in Scotland will be left to scrap over whatever crumbs BBC or STV manage to throw them. The Scottish game will survive without them. Whether it will fall to the standard of The League of Wales (scare story in National paper) is to be seen. |

Would it be better to have them play each other every weekend then see who is the best at the end of the season |

We don't need Celtic fans singing IRA songs during a minute silence.
We don't need Rangers fans running a muck or singing about killing Catholics.
So best Scotland keeps them. |

They wouldn't last a season in the Prem, they've been after getting in the prem for the last 10 years. I agree with Sussex I can't be done with this religion crap. |

I cannot understand why they would want to play in the premier league where they are they have a guaranteed place in the Champions league every year why give that up because they would struggle to challenge the established premier league hierachy for a place that way no club would give up such an easy route into Europe They might be interested in a European super league perhaps |
