I was told last night that a stretched limo went in the right hand lane but there is a bit of a bend in the road and the limo could not get around this bend with the new barrier in the way and got stuck.

I thought Cars used for weddings and funerals were Exempt from needing any form of LA licence...and get by on standard car insurances..

well thats me and 2 others all caught out by the new layout, EMA now has a proper dropoff area, wasnt able to see if theres a pickup area from where i was in the car park............

the pick up area for taxis is now well away from the terminal building when I was up there the other week half the drop off zone was coned off

after going in and not being able to use the right hand lane i didnt even look, centre and left barriers now lead into the car park can anyone use the right hand lane now (i.e. buses/taxis,etc)?

I think only the Lord knows what the final outcome will be at EMA. For now though,it's right hand lane all the time be it drop off or pick up.I always get the passengers to aim for the drop off point on their return. The queue to get in t'other day went virtually back to the lights on the A543 as everyone was dropping off and the machine was on a go slow. I did notice a car parking services van the other day so expect enforcement to be stepped up. As for the pick up point which is as far away from the terminal as can be(to please those Arrow rip off merchants that ply their trade at EMA),I noticed the sign saying unattended vehicles would be fined....so what do you do if you have a meet and greet then?.....'kin peasants!!! Disgruntled!

should be fun wednesday mine did all the price requests and booking by text (7) i dropped em off and said ring when ready to get in the car only to hear "we aint taking a phone with us".............................der.............

Steve I thought Cars used for weddings and funerals were Exempt from needing any form of LA licence...and get by on standard car insurances.. They are exempt from licensing whilst on weddings and funerals. They are not exempt from licensing for any other work be it proms, airport runs or taking the mayor to the palace. For this they need to be licensed.

I was there on tuesday and you couldn't use the right hand lane because there was no ticket roll left in the machine !!!!!!!! had to use the left hand lane into the car park I hope EMA realise theyve cocked it up good and proper doing that

Well,been twice this morning and it's as I suspected....there IS going to be a charge to use the new Rapid drop off lane.You can see the new exit with the same contraption as at Luton where you drop a pound in. The robbing baskets...it's a total pi*s take to charge customers like this.
