Late afternoon I got a call from what I thought was a customer wanting to book from a village 9 miles away to another village 9 miles further on and 10 miles from town a round trip mileage of about 28 miles for a 6 seater I quoted them £25 and the price was accepted. Driver turned up and picked up then he phoned me the passengers claimed they had been quoted £11 and were getting very abusive with the driver He passed his phone over to them to speak top me again very angry insisting that I had quoted them £11 and that it was her that booked the taxi not the male voice I had spoken to on further questioing it turns out they had spoken to someone called Euan and named another company based 2 miles up the road from the pick up. One very disgruntled driver returned to town customers adamantly refused to pay any more than the £11 quoted so I phoned up the taxi company named (a one man band who I know personally) seems it was nothing to do with him either but another one man band called Ian trading as espace travel who is not listed in phone book or yellow pages. Then I remembered getting caught out by him last year it seems if he wants to offload jobs he poses as a customer booking the taxi only when you pick up do you discover just how cheap his prices are The question is can I do anything about it I am now going to have to give the driver the balance of £14.00 the bloke who pulled the stunt is by all accounts untraceable I have asked every taxi company in his area for his number and address nobody knows it. I doubt complaining to trading standards would do any good and the licensing officer certainly wouldn't listen Anybody any ideas I certainly don't think he should get away with this scot free |

Why did the driver continue the job when the passengers got abusive and refused to pay the full fare? |

Good point!! And they say PH work is traceable as all the details are logged!!!
Always confirm the destination & agreed price at the pick-up point, before commencing the journey. Any hassle, just leave them there! BECAUSE, any residue or 'fag'end' of a verbal contract for 'taxi' transportation is no longer IN GOOD FAITH!!! Unless the passenger is willing to pay the full price agreed before the journey begins. |

We used to get that a few years ago, firms in the same district used to pass jobs over if they'd made a cock up like travelling to the job and how far the job was coming back. |

Someone must have his number, so when you get it book a few airport pick ups from him?
