As has been stated on here many times, that PH are taking over in some places leaving the Hacks to sit on the ranks longer than they should be.
The idea is to get all councils to treble the licence fees of PH,possibly reducing there numbers, then if they still want to continue they will have to pay, they would also have to increase there fares to recoup this, possibly making them more expensive than the hacks in there areas
Would this reduce the numbers in some areas??

No Skippy, that wouldn't work. It would just mean a load more unlicensed cars.

Not if there was an automatic £1,000 fine on top, plus 6 points on the licence

why do you think hacks sit on ranks just cos PH have taken the work?

if the hacks dont want to rent a radio or advertise thier numbers or FIND punters they deserve to sit on ranks, ive been a HC and had a radio, its not just PH's that can be sent to a job you know....

EQUALITY ACT !!!

Councils would not be permitted to be so discriminatory

Skippy what exactly is your problem with private hire and comptition from said private hire? Hackney carriages have a far better opportunity to earn money than the private hire do

Surely if you trebled the amount taxi drivers paid you would cull a few of them. Then more room on the rank for Skippy.

One strike & it's 6 months suspension of licence in Brum now!!!

And they're doing all the prosecutions using 'Woodings', so it's dead simple for enforcement!!

You should maybe keep quiet about that......each case should be treated on its own merits and all that.
