"Have you been on all night?" usually asked about 9 am!!!!

"Are you busy?"

"Which do you prefer short trips or ones to the airport?" Standard answer for that one is "As long as the meter is on I don't care either way "

I was merely commenting on the fact that you stopped for a flag down, nowhere in my statment was it mentioned you took them.

I usually get asked "aren't you scared doing this job". Seriously would I be doing this job if I was scared :? If it's little old grannies from the bingo who ask me I usually reply with a "why'd you ask are you going to beat me up  "

Another favorite of the fellas is "doesn't your husband mind you doing this job? I know I wouldn't let my girlfriend do it"

Too right I took them.

But my license states quite clearly that I could.

It's when after a long job through a maze of streets they say ' next left mate '. Yeah, I've managed to get this far I think I can find the final turn !

Or when you get an out of town job and you ask if it's the next motorway junction to turn off at and they say 'do you not know the way ? Call yourself a taxi driver ?' Like I know every f*ing street in the UK !

Peter Kay had a lot to answer for with his routine being repeated ad nauseum, for weeks...............
"are you busy, driver?"

"what time did you start?"

"what time do you finish?"

still gives me shivers
