Is there a free route planner that lets me put in all the places you want to visit and it'll sort the most efficient way to do this. I've been using the AA route planner which is ok but only lets you put in 4 'via' between point A to Point B. In the meantime if any of you are bored and would like to work it out for me whilst I sleep, cos I'm sooooooooo tired, this is how my latest route goes:-

Starting on the Wirral through tunnel to L1 that's not a problem then I have to visit

BL6 4JS,
M45 8QH,
SK6 2BR,
M11 1DA,
OL10 4PU,
SK14 2NG,
L24 2WZ,
WA8 6UA,
OL9 7LD,
OL16 4AT,
SK3 0RJ,
M34 3DS,
M30 0FH,
M35 0HY,
L18 6HF

Seriously tho if there is a free route planner could you let me know please :D

There are a couple of the places that my maps can't find (software a bit old now) but I have optimised a route for you. If you can PM an email address I can send it to you. I am not able to copy and paste to here. Computer says no.
What are you up to anyway, are doing courier work as well now?
The software that I use is Microsoft Autoroute. It is not free but you can get it for about £40.00

Have you tried using the copy & paste in the edit button at the top left of the screen, instead of right clicking to copy?

It usually gets round the problem.

Use control C to copy and control V to paste.

It is the mapping software that will not allow me to copy and paste.

online you can use google mapping, streetmap or the aa i think

without internet autoroute is best, though from my time with businesspost i know 50 drops can take a while

if you want the best route put the postcodes in, click "optimise route" and get a coffee......the request directions.....

TomTom is a low end satnav, so it won't do it for you.

Satnav's on phones are even more basic.

Personally I use Garmin, it will let you put in addresses of Postcodes and will then optimise the route. It will do this globally or locally - I use it often when doing multidrops (you're right Wannabeahack it takes ages) and if I try to outguess the Garmin it all goes very "Pete Tong". It calculates in seconds what would take me hours to do - and thats just locally!

Oops forgot one WA9 3DH, I've slotted it in tho. Thanks so much for that did it give a time estimate for the trip?

I do have a satnav built into my car that does optimise the routes for me but I'm not sure if I have to put it in in the right order first and also I didn't want to be sitting in my vehicle whilst I did the plan and also it won't let me do full post codes I have to put the complete address in and only part of the post code which is really annoying.

Toots if does "Optimise" what would be the point of putting it in in the right order

Put them in, optimise, drive. Seemples.

Absolutely no offence intended but you have had us all doing what you could have done.

No offence taken but I was asleep and I have a million other things to do like postage etc, I wasn't just being idle. The purpose is to find out the time it would take to complete all of the postcodes or would it be better to make two trips I need to find that info out first which is why I use the route planner rather than my built in sat nav. Also my car is outside in the cold and my computer is inside with the means of coffee, sandwiches and the warmth :D

I tried it and it only lets me put 6 routes in and it didn't put them in order of shortest trip so I don't see how it's optimised :?

The time estimate for the trip was about 2 1/2 hours. Obviously that doesn't account for stops and the traffic.
