Taxi Driver Online

Admitedly, my car is filthy on the outside this week. I normally wash it 2-3 times a week, but obviously with the weather this is out of the question.

I doubt any LA would kick up a fuss about dirty cars in this weather, but I was wondering if anyone on here had heard of a driver being stopped / warned over a dirty car at any time.

The reason I ask is that I see some really bad ones (and I mean digusting) even in the good weather and they seem to be permanently like this. It seems to me that councils aren't bothered about this?

One fella in particular at our firm, no less than 5 or 6 customers have mentioned to me about his car being dirty / smelly on the INSIDE. These drivers just don't seem to be brought to task and it's wrong as it gives a bad impression of the trade as a whole.

We had a guy who had obviously had a domestic with his missus and was out on his ear, so because he had no home to go to he decided to work round the clock, at the end of the night he ranked up at the train station and slept in his car, our station isn't 24 hours, and normally closes at 11pm ish and opens at 6am during the week, shorter hours at the weekend. This went on for weeks, I can only imagine what the punters at 6am was thinking as the driver shoved his quilt and wiped the sleep out of his eyes while driving him onto his destination. A fellow driver reported him and he was saved by the council.


Not sure if he has kept his badge, not seen him about for a long long time, as he is Asian and the Asians tend to keep themselves to themselves, no one is any wiser on what happened to him.

But other than that, I have never heard of any driver been pulled because of the state of a car, which is surprising as some of the PH cars are in such a state, I am sure the above hack would even have turned his nose up at.

You can't do nothing about it I'm affraid when the salt comes out. Keep the inside clean and smelling nice and you won't go wrong.
