![]() I see, can amber cars provide wheelchair accessible vehicles? That aside, the firm is private hire, whilst they can get around being parked on station premises, they cannot do immediate hires. Either way, if the taxi trade has to pay, there should be a barrier system, true, it's been proved from Manchester Airports experience that it does nothing to benefit the taxi trade or the customer, and also costs the driver upto four times the amount, it is fairer.

As normal stinky your moaning away and cant keep up with the times. How many times have you slagged station taxis of when they own the tender for the station and charge you £18.26 a week to work the station on your 18hr shifts 24/7. If and when Amber take over you will realize what a good deal you and every1 else had at the station.(And dont forget they took over Leeds/Bradford) I dont no if you realize at Newcastle station they pay £1900 a driver (not per car)and £10 a week admin get with the times. If Amber get the tender you will be paying over 3k a year (i can hear you now i wont pay that) but you will and nearly every1 else will pay it. |

Amber don't have the tender for LBA, Arrow Private Hire have it for LBA (and East Midlands as well) We operate at an industrial estate less than a mile from LBA and we charge £2.50 for first mile but found that Arrow seem to charge £6 minimum from the Airport. At the moment Amber only charge £2.70 for the first mile, whether this would be different in York we will have to wait and see. |

Arrow are con artists of the highest order, they've had something to do with the rapid drop off charge at East Mids Airport because you cant get near arrivals nowadays. |

Vice versa with LBA, Ten minutes for free in the pick up/drop off point. otherwise a minimum charge of £3. If you return within 30 minutes you don't get the free ten minutes. However there is something which we call an "Airport Card" you pay a fee to the airport, they give you a parking card which only charges you 50p per entry, but the only problem is you have to use the lower car park, which puts you even further away from the terminal AND the person who is in charge of renewals for the airport cards never seems to work??? A lot of Leeds private hire want HC back in the Airport. |

James1 I'm an independent hackney working in York station. Regrettably the owner of the car will not let me have a station radio put in.Like most independents in the station there all ante station taxis. Are you saying Amber are going to try and expand there business into York. How many drivers do they have at the moment and what are your radio charges. |

It looks that way, at present Amber have about 500 cars, our radio charges are £99 for a full week. |

If the York Council get an application from Amber/Arrow then all vehicles will have to be licensed by them plus all the drivers will have to undergo an application process (knowledge tests, CRB's etc) unless they are going to try and poach local licensed drivers. That could all take time. |
