Notification of Leicestershire County Council Passenger Transport
Contract Price Review for April 2011

I am contacting you regarding Schedule 2 of Contract Conditions to confirm revised contract prices applicable from 1st April 2011. You should note that this review applies to all passenger transport contracts held with the Authority.

In view of the budgetary constraints currently in place at the Council and taking into account the current economic climate it has been decided to award no inflationary increase to any qualifying contracts (as per Schedule 2 of your Contract) from 1st April 2011. The same will apply to any contractors who have local bus service students’ season ticket agreements with us.

Whilst I can see that this will not be good news for our contractors I hope that you will recognise the very difficult circumstances that the Authority and business in general finds itself in again this year. Having taken into account our budget allocation and the savings requirements that have come from the government’s Comprehensive Spending Review we can find no way of increasing contract prices at this time.

You do not need to do anything further to accept this continuation of your existing contract price, but if you have any queries do not hesitate to contact my colleague Mr. Ashley Holland as above at your earliest convenience and in any case by Friday 17th December 2010 at the latest.

Had my PH badge just 2 months now and planning ahead for the medium/long term. I live in a country area where there is a lot of movement of students by taxi/ph.

I am tempted to list my details with the council to bid for a school run but would welcome suggestions on the best way to price for profit. Any help appreciated.

cant grumble about staffordshire, money by BACS by the 11th of each month, when i was a warwickshire ambulance subby the bird who did the cheques seemed to be off ill, on holiday, orout the office every payday, it got so bad i parked the cars up and a senior officer went to my bank to deposit funds


leicstershire have just started a 2011 framework to replace the 2010 version, i dont think ill bother

Last year I contacted Hampshire cc about a school contract I was told I couldn't apply for a further two years as I missed the deadline by 4 weeks!

Framework being put in place here also........the trouble is with frameworks is that it assumes every job is going to deserve a single pence per mile bid...now from experience some runs just aint worth as much as others, some roads are car breakers, other roads are fuel hungry, some kids are monsters, some parents ae monsters, some drivers are car breakers and loads of other variables.............no two runs merit the same price.

nope...a framework price is a recipe for ruin im afraid.......so why bother to tender at all when they already know what you charge and wher you are..

The leicestershire framework doesn't work like that. Once accepted onto the framework you receive emails inviting you to tender for a particular contract. You just quote your best price for the job and you either get it or you don't.

Many of you will already be on our
current Framework Agreement (SV1)
and will be receiving email tenders for
contracts within that Agreement. The
Agreement is due to expire on 31st
March 2011, but will be extended for
approximately one month until 2nd May
2011. Later this month we will be issuing
a new Tender for a Framework Agreement
(SV2) that will commence from 3rd May
2011.
