to inform council... At 0715 on wednesday morning I had an accident on the station forecourt, when a traffic sign pulled out in front of me without indicating, silly me. At 0930 I got a phone call from my licensing department, stating that they had received a phone call informing them that I had been involved in an accident and did I wish to report it. Did the wuckfit who grassed me up really think that I wouldn't bother to inform the council? He's embarrasing himself now by rushing around telling everyone how he enjoyed making the phone call to the council. Pathetic. Still, I suppose he has to find something to fill his day now he's another sad dad living in a rented flat on his ownsome. Came home to "find another gentlemans kippers under the grill," to quote Ian Dury. |

I must be tired cos I've just pictured a lollipop lady  Why at that time in the morning or for that on a station rank I'll never know. Oh well I hope you didn't do too much damage to your vehicle

You should have told your licensing department that under The LG(MP) Act 1976 you are allowed up to 72 hour to report any accident and that you will do so within that legal time frame. Section 50 of that Act states; 50 Provisions as to proprietors (3) Without prejudice to the provisions of [section 170 of the Road Traffic Act 1988], the proprietor of a hackney carriage or of a private hire vehicle licensed by a district council shall report to them as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any case within seventy-two hours of the occurrence thereof, any accident to such hackney carriage or private hire vehicle causing damage materially affecting the safety, performance or appearance of the hackney carriage or private hire vehicle or the comfort or convenience of persons carried therein. |

Well from now on every time you are discussing things with other cabbies the phrase "careful XXXXXX will phone the council" should come regularly into the conversation he'll soon become the leaat welcome cabbie on the rank ! |

What I meant was that I would have told the LO to f*ck off politely!! You were within your rights to report the matter in your own time, within the time scale and not be harrassed by him. Anyway, what is the full name of that driver, now know on your rank by the name 'Judas McSnitch' and what's the reg number of the cab he drives? |
