I had a driver overstep the mark today but he is the sort that can throw their toys out of the pram if you're not careful. Should I do something or not is the question and if so what action is appropriate.

he already has a nasty habbit of instead of sitting at the rank sitting at the end of the high street where many fares book from and grabbing them before I can send the driver whose turn it is for the job. The other day he stormed off home after I refused to let him snatch another job when he had had 2 jobs in a row and I insisted that a car who had missed out earlier got the job. He also persistently insists on calling clear before he has actually dropped the passenger off but today I gave 2 jobs out together now his was the smaller of the 2 so he ignored that and went and picked up the other job the other car was sat outside the address for 6 or 7 minutes before we realised and then had to go for the other job. I was able to make it up to the other car BUT we work as a team and share the work farely that has always been our policy and this driver is taking liberties.

What I am after is a way to get him to be a team player not Mr Greedy he does get on with the customers OK and i rarely get complaints

Any Suggestions

Get rid of him he's stealing money from you and the other drivers.

It doesn't appear so.

I know you are in an iffy situation where you need these cars to fulfil your work, and pay your bills, but deep down you know the answer, and that's to f*** him off.

Or just give him all the sh** work. :D

lol.....so much for the comrades in arms

perhaps the driver needs educating?

Whilst i dont want to cast any aspersions of dear edders, he does seem to have already stated what he thinks this guy is.........whilst i disagree with his methods (the driver) could it be suggested this is a result of the deregulated marketplace? ......as skull would put it, rats feeding on rats?

In some businesses the guy would be rewarded for using his initiative.
