A scottish tv interview criticising the UK economy hmmmm... not politically motivated ?

Seriously though I would question what the bloke is saying because my understanding is that there has been a lot of debt reduction going on in the UK over the last couple of years with people getting their credit card bills etc reduced to more manageable levels and also it's no good comparing the UK to the US because housing in the UK is comparatively more expensive so people have to take out bigger mortgages hence borrowing is a higher percentage of GDP
