What a bloody good idea!!

Not the inquiry mind you, just the use of the jobseekers.

Personally I think it's shocking if true. If there is work out there that needs to be done it should be paid for or ask for volunteers. Nobody should work for nothing unless they choose to do so

My last job today was to take one of these chaps home to Saltash (just over the bridge into Cornwall) after he was dropped in Plymouth.

He was not too happy I can tell you.

Considered himself really lucky that the tent he was in was packed up and taken home by another who decided he was not doing it, so "The Boss" said he could sleep on the floor of the Portakabin.

When he was telling me I thought it was cobblers - then I find this out.

Gonna be hitting the fan I suppose.

They did ask him to help out with the Olympics, I don't think he's keen.

Making them volunteer is better than putting a bullet in the back of their heads like the Bolsheviks did, Brother Trotsky

I heard on the news that the contract paid to the company was £1,000,000 or more

There were no company staff to meet the coaches, the drivers chucked em off at 3am, a 14 hour shift later they had to make thier own way to a wet muddy campsite

I dont agree with unlimited benefits but this was out of order, I bet the CEO of the company had a nice day

Whoever organised and authorised this needs the sack

Close Protection UK confirmed that it was using up to 30 unpaid staff and 50 apprentices, who were paid £2.80 an hour, for the three-day event in London. A spokesman said the unpaid work was a trial for paid roles at the Olympics, which it had also won a contract to staff. Unpaid staff were expected to work two days out of the three-day holiday.

The woman said that people were picked up at Bristol at 11pm on Saturday and arrived in London at 3am on Sunday. "We all got off the coach and we were stranded on the side of the road for 20 minutes until they came back and told us all to follow them," she said. "We followed them under London Bridge and that's where they told us to camp out for the night … It was raining and freezing."

How were any of them classed as apprentices? What trade were they learning?
