was driving through Cleland the other day and pulled up at the RBS bank as the G4S van was in unloading, so i was sitting behind him waiting for a gap to pull out and the security man with the crash helmet is getting out with the box and next thing i know there is a black VW golf pulling up across the road and there are two guys pulling the black masks down, well i shoot over to the car park across the road pull in beside one of the other taxi driver's who i know well and said to him that they were robbing the bank so me and him sit there and and watch to see what happens a few seconds later one of the guys has the money box and gets into the golf and speeds off, you can see it on the stv and bbc websites about Cleland RBS bank robbery, was an adrenaline rushing moment.

You mean it was a scaredy cat moment. The security guard, who is probably on minimum wage, was in great danger and you and your mate left him to his fate. Well done! =D> =D> =D>

Have you ever been involved in an armed robbery Grandad ? Trust be he did the right thing these people are desperate often drugged up and quite violent in my case they put the gun to the side of my head and threatened to blow my brains out on the count of 3. Unless you are trained in combating armed men the best course of action is to stay well out of it or the consequences can be very severe

I doubt they woulddnt be armed with something to rob a bank.Website says a handgun, still wouldnt get involved especially for a bank.

Didn't this happen outside the bank? Wasn't it a G4S security van?

No doubt you would have offered them a lift if their car broke down.

They are told to hand over the money and not to put up a fight. I went for an interview with a company called Armourguard about 20 years ago, they used to transport stamps and currency for the Post Office and Banks, when the guy tells you to hand over the money and not put up a fight what do you do?

These guards aren't on the minimum wage, some are on a good screw well above the national minimum wage.

If the money was loaded into cassetts it would be useless because it would've been marked with paint when opened without the key for the box.

the guy was armed, police don't know if it was real or not but they are currently looking for information on the men but since they had masks on not much info there, type it up and you will find it the car was later found burnt out

" the car was later found burnt out"...were the police in hot persuit? 8)

Things CAN happen. A while ago the mrs took 3 blokes from the pub to the next town. Later she's pulled by the BiB and asked about these 3 oiks. We are looking for them. A few weeks later, BiB want a statement, it was a "serious matter". Court case just before Christmas.

3 oiks pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery shortly before they were picked up by the mrs!!

You never know who your next fare might be!
