And it goes without saying, you pulled over safely to read and reply to the text message? :---)

But why do punters contact by text when you are likely to be driving?

Indeed.

It's got to be easier just to ring, then you haven't got to wait for a return text once the driver has actually read it.

By which time he could be many miles further away.

this is a gang of Eastern European plasterers working on a site locally they speak almost no English but one of them can text in English through a translation app.

“How much to Burton waters?”

Between £10-12.

“App says £8-10”

Well, your app is wrong then isn’t it?

“Will you take me for £5?”

No. Now fer cough and stop bothering me.

“You’re racist “

Yes I am, if you say so.

A1 closed near Grantham/ Melton Mowbray junction today after accident. Made my fare from Lincoln to Ely quite a runaround. Good job it was on the meter! A15 was busy on the way home though! How was it for you, edders/ grandad?

Don't think we were affected much but I'm surprised you went that way if you are on the meter.

wouldn't it be more direct to go 15/17/16 down to eye then along the 47 to Guyhirne thence March and onto Ely ?

And the accident was another lorry driver who can't understand that the A1 is NOT a motorway and ploughed into a tractor!

No one was cancelled because I refused to take 9 passengers in an 8 seater one went on the bus the day before but they decided to go and buy a car so they can shove 9 of them into a Zafira. They just won't understand that in the UK it is one passenger per seatbelt

The other the 2 guys were proving somewhat unreliable so the company they were working for and who were paying for the taxi decided to bin them off so no taxi now needed

well this morning got a call from them there are now 10 and can they have 8 seater + a car the zafira no where to be found :-k and i did see a VOSA vehicle floating around town yesterday

it did strike me as odd that they could buy a car at 7pm at night and that they had taxed and insured it at that time of night

They have only booked for today but I suspect that it might be for the week 8)

Just had a car failed as unfit and proper on it's mid term test

So it's been taken off the road but nothing wrong mechanically just the driver forgot to clean the boot which has mud and dog hairs so vehicle has been taken off the road!

Testing station has allowed us to take it back today after it's been sorted out [-o<
