I tried to join, but admin sent me an email questioning my motives and asking me to reply before my account was activated. All I wanted to do was comment on the page width problem, so I haven't bothered replying, but perhaps someone who is a member of the forum could post the following in the 'Width of page' thread: I doubt if the problem is due to copying from documents, since I've copied from many sources and it's never caused the page to widen in the way it has. The problem is more likely to be the length of the web links, and this can be solved by making them text links, as follows: 1. paste the link into the message box as normal 2. highlight it, then click the URL box above the message box to add the tags 3. with the first URL box - [url] - get rid of the second bracket, and replace it with = 4. put the closing square bracket that was deleted in step 3 - ] - at the end of the URL instead 5. between that and the opening square bracket beside it add the text you want to describe the link - ie, where you have ][ after step 4 you end up with something like ]CEC website link[ This can either be done by anyone posting such a link, or retrospectively by admin if the page width is proving a problem - with short URLs the page width is unaffected. The procedure seems a bit fiddly at first, but is easy after the first few attempts. |
