legal standing on this .. 2 tft screens in back of headrests in car wired obviously to my dvd player. i want to make up dvd for differant pubs / businesses in my town to advertise in my taxi for a set price per month. i.e. take pics of business(inside/out) & add any wording they want in add...but no sound incase my punters get [edited by admin] off . where are the legal issues here if any ?? thanks jhp |

Anything that goes in your motor needs to be passed by your council, so you need to speak to them first. And as the 400 odd councils have 800 different ways of working, the legal part depends on what they say. Me I don't see a problem, but then I'm not an LO.

The LA would probably say there are rules against all forms of advertising in the car and you have to also remember the types of business that can be advertised. I.e: some LAs won't allow the advertising of alcohol, adult shops etc. I think the LA would ask to see the film before approving it for showing in the vehicle. And because licensing like to be difficult, they'd probably want to check your 'screen' for safety - an annual check for that too perhaps. In theory, it might sound a good idea, a good way to make an extra couple of quid. This could though, prove rather difficult to set up. |
