so SK up to 1797 but we are now down to 3rd worst in lincolnshire with east lindsey just 3 short of 2000 and lincoln up to 1816 but 4 deaths in South Kesteven

and the figures keep on rising which goes to show the lockdown was too little too late

Government should have kept pubs and clubs shut and paid them their expenses to remain viable

But Australia is covid free at the moment so they are getting it right !

You have to love an expert.

So we have jumped to 56 positives in the last 7 days for Stamford  double the national average but we stay in tier 3 whilst all the tier 4 people visit us

I think it is now nigh on impossible to avoid this and it will be herd immunity not the vaccine that defeats this

Pretty certain it will be the vaccine that sorts this, not herd immunity.

Most of the folks killed by this bug are over 60.

In the last couple of weeks 25% of over 80s have been vaccinated. When the Oxford vaccine comes on line they are expecting to vaccinate over a million a week.

What tier 4 people have been visiting Stamford? Very little open in tier 3 that is worth traveling for.

I have just had a phone call to let me know that a chap i have known for many years through scouting has died this morning. He had been waiting for a heart operation but caught Covid whilst in the hospital. His wife has tested positive a few days ago as well.
RIP Tony.

back in July someone who I have known as a customer for over 25 years died of covid in a nursing home where he was recovering from a brain haemorrhage. And of course I asked his partner how is he a couple of months ago not realising he had died

I think when this is finally over we will all discover people we knew who have died from it  but what is more frightening is the rate of infection which is far higher than the first wave, I am just hoping that doesn't translate into an even bigger wave of deaths than the first wave. 8-[

stamford now 87 as of 28th December

Some stupid young girls went out partying with their mates on the run up to xmas then went into work at a local nursing home by the time they had been tested (every 7 days) it was too late

And today up to 108

but I have now found out that 4 out of 5 of the local care homes who managed to keep mostly clear of it during the first wave have rampant coronavirus this time which is driving the figures. I am just hoping that the residents and staff all recover [-o<

the only silver lining is that as so many staff off with covid those left are needing more taxis as they can't get their usual lifts
