Anyone else?

Dear Operator,

Payment for Contracts on Monday 19th September 2022

As you will already be aware, Monday 19th September has been designated a bank holiday on occasion of the Queen’s state funeral. Schools will be closed for the day, and so transport is not required to operate. Local bus services that are contracted for Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday operation are also not required to operate.

In recognition of the exceptional circumstances, the County Council will pay in full for all home to school and local bus contracts that were originally scheduled to operate on Monday. Please note that this is a one off exception to our normal conditions of contract. This payment will be made on condition that all drivers, owner-drivers and passenger assistants are paid their normal wages in full. Random checks on this will be carried out as part of our ongoing programme of operator audits and further action will result if drivers and PAs have not received normal payment for this date.

Local bus contracts only: if your contract includes a Sunday service, then a Sunday service should operate and be claimed for in the normal way. If the service is Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday, this does not need to operate but can be claimed for in the normal way.

Home to school contracts only: the normal daily rate that would have applied on 19th September can be claimed, including passenger assistant where applicable.

We hope that this payment will assist in avoiding any financial disadvantage to your staff or business.
Many thanks,

It's bound to be a Bank Holiday when the Coronation happens too.

That's why I got "Un-announced Public Holidays" included on our Tariff.

Our Licensing people have told Hackney drivers that they can charge bank holiday rates for Monday.

Are you able to put a larger amount manually on the meter or will it just be a meter plus X scenario.
