I have just tendered for a school run. It is 30 miles each way so 120 miles a day and it is for a driver and escort and it will take 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon so 8 hours pay.
How much do you think this went for?

mmmmmmm

well

assuming driver and PA are on PAYE/NMW

wages - £92
fuel - 3 gallons a day, £8/gallon?.....£24
Car running costs/plate/insurance/blah blah blah £15/day?

Costs will hit £150 pretty quickly

i did one almost the same miles in MY car, My work, wifa as PA and won it at £150/day but that was 6 years ago (3 years later price was the same)

im guessing it went for £100 (Knackered avensis, PA on £10 cash a day)

well, here the county insist all PAs are PAYE, however, i asked, is that while in the car or while kids are in the car, the reply was typical council......"well we leave that to contractors as we have no way of checking"
