Post subject:  Work the circuit or the ranks
Bought a plate last year and have never been on a circuit.

I'm thinking about joining one of the circuits but don't fancy paying £100+ a week.

Is it worth it? Or shall I stay as I am?

From what I hear they are all bent.

I suspect you paid enough for the plate, so don't bother with the circuits. :wink:

Its common knowledge if you want to graft, the radio rent is worth it, if you want to doss and chat on the ranks stay as you are. :wink:

not exactly true, if its a good circuit then maybe, but when its busy on the ranks, you dont want to be waiting about for people

When the ranks are busy so are the offices ............... guess what happens when the ranks are quiet.

Count up how many HC's are working circuits and are sitting alongside you on the rank .......... the more there are the less likely you are of making the extra cash to pay the fee's.

I suppose it depends on the georgraphy. The town I live in just outside Glasgow, almost all the Hacks are on a radio too.

As the town is small, all the rank work comes directly from the town centre. ASDA next to the shopping centre and the railway station. When you take a job you are likely to be heading into a housing estate where there will be little to no street work, but the radio work will likely take you back into the town centre again where you can get a job off the rank. Also, after about 11pm on week nights there will be hardly any work off the street.

Quite the opposite down here. After 11.00pm it's nearly all rank work.

But thanks to all that have replied and sent me a PM. I think I will stay as I am for a little while longer.
