Just wondering if I am the only Cabbie in the UK that comes home and thinks about things that have happened and whether I should have / could have done something else?

Main reason I ask is this - there's an article in my local paper this week about two staffs that have attacked another dog and a man on the beach last Sunday. There is a description of the dogs, including collar details, and the guy that was with them. They seemed pretty familiar.

The thing is - that I know of two dogs that match the description; as does the owner; and when I saw one of the dogs on Sunday afternoon it had a nasty gash on its neck as if it had been in a fight! I'm not saying that is definately the dogs concerned - but there are several children under the age of 5 in the house with these dogs! And I don't know what to do. I'm a dog lover but ..... in the back of mind there is nagging voice saying that if they are the same dogs they could attack one of the kids. They could be totally innocent and I'd hate to put a family through hell just incase!

What should I do????? If I'm right - the owner just happens to be a very good customer! And where do I stand on giving out details of jobs etc?

Tigger by informing the Police you are not condeming these dogs or their owner to anything other than an investigation.

The investigation could prove nothing, but alternatively you could be highlighting some issues which could ultimatly save people from an attack from these dogs.

I would suggest a anonymous call to the local Police, cause at the end of the day you'll probably feel less guilt if these dogs are removed or even deatroyed than you would if they attacked a child and you did nothing.

If this person is a responsible dog owner they will welcome any investigation and if they are not they do not deserve to own a dog.

The police have a confidential line, so if you feel the need then just do it.

Make the call on the "Chicken Line" sorry that should read "CrimeStoppers" from an out of town phone box! You were right - if (and nothing is proven) these are the same dogs then I owe it to the kids and as rightly said if they are responsible owners then they will appreciate being checked as a precaution.

I appreciate that this was not a strictly Taxi thread and thank you for allowing it to remain and to be answered
