A TAXI firm boss is backing calls for CCTV to be installed in cabs after one of his drivers was robbed of his takings.

The victim, who has asked not to be named, was pushed into the foot well of his car and forced to hand over £70.
His attacker, Richard Spottiswood, was found guilty of robbery at Newcastle Crown Court last month and jailed for four years.
The 23-year-old, of Ebchester Street, South Shields, was identified through CCTV footage from a camera in the taxi firm's office.
