Can anyone tell me the going "price" of a Glasgow hackney plate? I've been told circa 35k. Many thanks for your replies. |

£35k also is the info I have. Business seems to be booming for Taxis in Glasgow. Haven't seen any TX4's yet but there are plenty of new Peugeots/TW200's etc on the street. There is always plenty of rank work. The only time I've seen an overflowing rank recently is Sauchiehall St 5 minutes before the pubs or clubs get out. |

Had my first TX4 spot tonight in Glasgow City Centre. Hack black and I think it had a black grill too. Also as mentioned above, a few fairways still doing the rounds. |

A few years ago I remember seeing a old 'T' reg (1979) fairway on the road in Glasgow The rule seems to be as long as a vehicle is no older than 5 years when it goes into service, it can be relicensed until it fails a taxi test The rules have recently been changed for private hire however, which do now have an upper limit of (I think) 8 yrs, maybe one of the Glasgow boys could fill us in ? |

Also as mentioned above, a few fairways still doing the rounds. I find it hard to believe people are parting with their hard earned for that pile of sh**
A guy I know was offered £18,000 (could be £16,000, I can't remember exactly, roundabout that figure) on his TXII for a trade-in. His TX is less than a year old. Now that's what I call depreciation.

i would sugest that the main reason for the huge drop in value is due to the fact that the tx4 is now out. i bought my car when it was 6mths old and it had dropped 4k from the origional price that it had been bought for new. thats why i would never buy new i always buy any motor when it is a min 6months old you save a fortune and still get the full warranty with it. i have been looking at replacing my current car and just looking at the price of the motor i want when its new and one that is 6months old i will be saving between 4 and 5k just depends on the model i go for. in the market we all work in you need to get the best value for you hard earned cash |
