mmm the skeletons are starting to speak, will others in the Council tell us all, not just the minor things
this was shown in city of York newspapers tonight, is there more we should know of them and others who judge us
Green leader Andy D'Agorne - charged with trespassing at Menwith Hill
But had he ever had any brushes with the law? "The areas where I have perhaps most come up against the law have been in relation to my political activity," he said.
A long-standing member of CND, he was once, about 20 years ago, charged with trespassing on restricted land at RAF Menwith Hill, he admitted. He defended himself in magistrates court, and argued that he had been on a footpath. "I was actually having a sandwich at the time."
Council leader's motoring mistakes
Liberal Democrat leader of City of York Council Steve Galloway - speeding and, 40 years ago, downed a couple of pints before driving
"I will admit to doing 75mph down the M1 on occasion
Labour leader Dave Merrett - convicted of being drunk in Poland
"I did get convicted for being drunk in Poland," he admitted.
"It was 1976. I was on a cycling trip and I made the mistake of having a bottle of vodka. I wasn't used to having hard spirits - and I'm not sure the others on the trip were either!"
Agent's life in the conservative lane
Conservative agent John Galvin - three speeding offences
As to breaking the law in other way, well, there had been a couple of petty motoring convictions. "I have had three speeding fines in 50 years of driving. Fifty years and many millions of miles of driving."
Other than that, he said, he really was whiter than white. "I don't drink to excess, I don't gamble I'm a perfect individual!"
