If there's 500 cabs in Norwich Andy and you asked each one, you'd get 500 different answers.
The trouble with lots of cab drivers is, they dont treat it as a full time job. When you can earn money by the min instead of by the week/month it's easy to work until you think you've earnt enough, and go home. If your serious about wanting to do it, get your license and rent a cab for a few weeks and see for yourself, that way if it isnt for you, you can jack it in without getting into debt. You could easily do it along side your existing job in case you dont like it, and you haven't burnt your bridges.

If he's a friend, then he's more than likely telling the truth. Remember you wont earn that kind of cash over night though, it takes time to get to know the ropes.

If you want to work loads of hours then you might earn loads of money.

But do you really want to work till 5.00am in the morning picking up pi** heads?

Or you can earn reasonable money by working some late night and weekends.

Or you can earn not a lot by working Mon to Fri 9.00am till 5.00pm.

The choice is yours.

Firstly it might be worth you having a chat with your local licensing officer. Most don't bite.

But once you have your HC license you can ply on any council rank, although you may have to pay to work at some stations.

There's might be an exception to that rule somewhere, but FFS leave it at that.
