I don't think it has anything to do with the NTA, just some non-drivers trying to fleece drivers.
The thing is with new taxi/PH forums is that after they spend the first week patting themselves on the back, they then spend the next week slagging off other forums, they then spend the next week slagging off each other, and then it withers and dies.
And throughout all that they never debate the issues that matter i.e. taxi and PH ones. And why's that? Because they know f*** all about this trade and are just trying to ponce a living off the likes of us.

It would appear that someone has been sending PMs to about 30 TDO members touting another taxi forum.
PMs along the line of; national taxi forum brand new national taxi forum nothingabouttaxis@mite.com and i found it by accident, but theres other users from on here and other forums, they all use that one now
How sad is that? But maybe the saddest part is that he sent a PM to a member of TDO who was only a member because her mum died following a nasty incident with a cab driver. Now that's desperate.

What you mean to say that TDO isn't officially sanctioned by the NTA?

Thanks for trying smithy, the NTA site needs a password to get on. I have also heard a rumour that NATO is about to sanction TDO.

No Thanks I should imagine most on here have received the posting - I do not think it will do any harm, as many on here are pretty sensible and will make their own minds up. I need a laugh now and again, on the other hand sometimes you can pick the bones of others. |

Shows how good it is, Terry's a member and there's more posts in the "jokes" section than any other ! No Thanks You will find that almost every desperate person who cannot make something work on their own initiative will use whatever desperate means they can in order to succeed, even if that means writing to every single subscriber on TDO. Mr T did the same thing when the caabby forum was set up but it didn't make much difference to that outfit and I doubt it will make much difference to this outfit. TDO has never solicited subscribers and it never will. I notice not one person connected with the administration of TDO got a pm, therefore I suspect the persons who did the soliciting new precisely who not to contact? There are many people who are desperate to have a forum as successful as TDO, especially a certain advertising man behind a certain magazine. It is no secret that this advertising person solicited the help of TDO in order to raise the profile of their magazine and that they were desperate to get their hands on TDO. I suspect the person in question is still smarting from the fact that they can no longer post on TDO and that their continued efforts to register are very quickly nipped in the bud. I suppose it will come as no surprise to everyone that since they were banned the person in question has unsuccessfully tried to register on numerous occasions with several nicks in order to re invent themselves. I would say that amounts to more than a sign of desperation? The problem with this particular person is that he is not a Taxi driver and he knows absolutely nothing about the Taxi trade. Anyone in this gentleman's position will constantly need to impress advertisers that their money is not being wasted and it is in their best interest to advertise with him? These people need people like you in order that they can tell their advertisers that they have a core base of regular subscribers and that their advertising message is getting across. I have a feeling that this persons Advertisers are already aware that his efforts to build a decent online taxi website and forum, have failed. Hence the desperation of writing to all TDO subscribers. I suspect these failures prove that it takes more than just a website to attract subscribers, no doubt those who advertise with this publication will realise that? If they don't, then they must have more money than sense. As far as I'm aware TDO has not "fully" investigated this occurrence but at the end of the day it is up to each individual to decide what they do online. I do not know for certain who made these approaches to subscribers on TDO but no doubt it would give whoever it was, some sort of artificial credibility in telling their advertisers that they had a substantial amount of members? One of the main reasons why I personally decided to promote and edit a certain taxi magazine was because it had become increasingly obvious that the magazine in question was constantly copying the news items that first appeared on TDO. We did the hard work of researching these latest news items and this publication was just copying our hard work. It is no surprise that since TDO gave this person their marching orders that the magazine is back to sqaure one. If you read the latest offering of his magazine you will notice that 95% of its content is an exact replica of what we had already published. The only difference is that we on TDO always give credit to the source of the story or information, whereas in many cases others do not. I have no doubt whatsoever that the next offering of this magazine will also consist of 95% of information and data already made available on TDO. The good news on that front is that TDO for sometime has had plans to publish its own magazine and as soon as events in Scotland have been satisfied then it will be full steam ahead for that project. PMs along the line of; national taxi forum brand new national taxi forum nothingabouttaxis@mite.com I seem to recall someone buying up all expired domain names relating to taxis in the hope that he could elevate his website to the number one position in the google search heirarchy. It seems success was limited because if you type in "Taxi Forum +uk" you get the number one taxi forum on the Internet, that being TDO and if you type in "taxi driver +uk" you also get the number one Taxi driver website. So I suppose google has a modicum of artificial intelligence in being able to tell the difference between "the real thing" and a Fake? Regards JD |

I tried to register but the return email was caught by my spam filter! After reading some of the posts on there I don't think I'll go back to it, they are starting to post posts that have been written on this Forum. Alex your comment about the member who's Mother died is on there! |

That someone bought up two domains to pounce on the back of Private Hire Monthly. Strange that neither of them work. Could the folks at PHM not be best pleased with the pounce?
