Post subject:  the new 20mph limit

going to hit maybe everywhere, how we going to work, its going to cost more fuel, ie lower gear, or chugging the ar*se out of the motor causing maybe damaged and carbon up

will the Councils then be able put more taxis on to compensate for cabs not getting back to the rank quick enough as the rank queue's build up

fewer jobs per hour, less earnings, more vehicle repairs, all equals longer hours to earn, maybe more trouble on ranks whilst waiting for cab

We have 20 mph zones and because of the traffic we struggle to do 15 mph. :sad:

Thing that really get my goat is those bloody bus-stops that they build out into the road. Image

Our bus stops are mostly laybys but the buses stop out in the road anyway blocking it !! :roll:

Our city centre has a fair few 20mph zones,but on a weekend we never reach that speed anyway. All the peed up public decide that the road is the footpath and that they are invincable :x

Glasgow City Centre is 30mph.

Saturday night - 11pm - Average Speed in the city centre..... 3 MPH.

been using my pug 406 on private hire in york for 2 years now has average speed on fuel computer started out at 14 mph now down to 12 mph this is at night from 6.30pm onwards, no need to lower speed limits.
they control traffic speed with red lights.
