Just to clarify a rather misleading statement made on the Fastblacks forum by its administrator (below): 1) The administrator asked us to remove a thread concerning him. 2) Since the thread seemed innocuous and it wasn't really clear what the complaint was about we replied asking for clarification, since it's self-evident that threads can't be dumped in their entirety merely on the basis that it contains some adverse opinion that someone doesn't like, but at the same time amounts to little more than fair comment. 3) Despite explaining all this in our request the response did nothing to clarify matters. 4) A complaint was then made to our ISP, and we then got rid of the relevant thread. Thus it's wholly incorrect either to state explicitly or to imply that we ignored the initial request or that the thread is still there. Indeed the fact is that Fastblacks ignored our request for clarification. And since the thread has been removed but the defamatory remarks on Fastblacks about TDO remain in situ it's a bit rich to complain about Fastblacks being hard done by or to complain about the laws of the land not being adhered to, since we removed the offending remarks. It should be added, however, that given that Fastblacks ingored our request for a simple bit of clarification and thus clearly wasn't interested in a dialogue conducted in good faith, we didn't specifically ask for a quid pro quo as regards deleting the thread, so to that extent we cannot blame Fastblacks for not removing the defamatory content. The dark orifice followed that up with a thread which contained libellous content regarding Alan G. After contacting one of their administrators he made what, at the time seemed a genuine offer to remove the offensive content, if similar disparaging remarks were removed from Fasties. Our reply was to agree to this providing the libellous thread was removed. Nothing happened, so we were forced to contact their hosting company about the breach of their acceptable use conditions, in order to have the thread removed. Alex, their administrator has not as yet replied to our message regarding removal of all abuse on both forums, which does cast some doubt on the sincerity of his original offer. Following on from all this, any link to the dark orifice or the bonehead blog are automatically changed so that we can avoid promoting sites which pay little or no regard for the laws of the land. |

Mr Gladstone destroyed his own reputation when he stole a Scottish court document off TDO and proceeded to publish it on his own website. Whatever remnants are left of his reputation are hardly worth considering. Obviously the comments of Mr Skull hit a raw nerve. Regards JD |

Obviously the comments of Mr Skull hit a raw nerve. Regards JD Is it possible to "steal" a document from a website, technically? Don't care, just wondered. Did the document as you put it disappear, or was it duplicated, and therefore not theft? Industrial espionage perhaps? |

i am not a lawyer, but I think duplicating amounts to theft - just think about pirate film tapes, cds etc etc - just copied, or stolen ? I dont think the holders of the intellectual property rights would agree with you, jimbo |

Might I be the only apathetic pleb who doesn't really care who they are? To your first sentence, I give you http://www.fastblacks.com/forum/ To your second, you are not alone in your view.
