Taxi surveys are an enigma, the reason why they are an enigma is because they don't say very much other than what the person paying for the survey wants them to say? We saw in Plymouth a Fraudulent and manipulated questionaire that supposedly supported the counting of heads getting into Taxicabs on certain Taxi ranks in the City Centre of Plymouth. Fraudulent surveys have been hard to prove in the past but thanks to the vigilence of Mr John Preece that anomoly was firmly put to rest in 2006. TDO dissected the Jacobs survey in 2005 and it was plain for all to to see that the figures didn't add up. Yet not surprisingly Edinburgh councillors accepted the flawed survey unconditionally. But how good is a survey that relies on opinions from just 13 people out of a population of 450,000? Well that is question Edinburgh council will have to answer in the coming weeks. Regards JD |

It's quite simply pi** poor, and any council that takes that sort of info as an excuse to bar a fully licensed cab driver from owning his own cab is pretty pi** poor as well.
Oh, and maybe the biggest parties in the pi** poor stakes are the taxi unions/associations that allow councils to treat fully licensed cab drivers in this way.
