Wayne the pain local cabbie famed for being a prolific buyer and seller of cars vans etc and other things has just been on holiday.
the day before i asked him which vehicle he was using to tow his caravan.The reply was " the rainbow bus" a minibus he's just bought off a local nursery. I was somewhat sceptical of this as he's only just bought the old transit
5am on the sunday morning he hitches up his caravan but to the 4 by 4 he'd thought better of using the tranny! 1.30 in the afternoon he arrives back in town with the 4 by 4 on the back of a rescue lorry towing the caravan. The bottom pulley had come off half way down the M5
The following day they sert off again this time with the rainbow bus towing the caravan success they finally make it to rainy Ilfracombe.
3 days of wet rainy weather later and with the campsite turning into a mudbath they get fed up and move the caravan up to Weston super Mare
Second day at Weston and they end up at casualty after his daughter got knocked off her bike luckily with only minor injuries ! By Monday of the following weeik the phone calls back home are starting to find out how busy it is and is it worth him coming back off holiday early but he's encouraged to stick it out and visit some museums.
Wednesday night they decide to head for home and after dinner hitch ujp the caravan and head off home but half way home the rainbow tranny breaks an injecftor half way back and after a long wait for the breakdown they finally arrive outside his mums house ( I don't think he wanted the neighbours to see
) at 07.00 this morning !!
I felt so sorry for them I gave them a lift home then went down the rank to break the news to some of the other cabbies best laugh we've had for a couple of months ! And to top it all when he got home his wifes car wouldn't start either and only his current taxi will run
Oh boy is he going to get the p taken mercilessly when he starts back tommorrow
