If Ged is saying that he been banned from Taxi Driver Online's forum, then he isn't telling the truth.

For what it's worth it seems I'm banned also but only when I log on from home on an NTL system.

Saw exactly the same problem recently on a local forum where all NTL users got banned due to the admin banning one specific user. The problem lies with how NTLs servers allocate identical area group IP’s or (something like that) The bottom line is that NTLs practice of doing this has made banning someone by IP a real hit and miss affair.

Thanks for that Bill - we had suspected that this might happen. However, since the original complainant was hypocritically bleating about being banned after having left the forum voluntarily then clearly we didn't bother investigating the matter.

The problem arose due to a troublemaker a couple of weeks ago who was flooding the forum with silly posts, so we had no alternative but to ban his IP. But as far as we could tell at the time, no existing poster was using the same one, so we didn't really envisage any problems.

At least the actions taken had the desired effect of silencing the trouble maker. Ged left of his own accord and no longer posts on this forum so it is neither here nor there if he can or can't log on.

Perhaps Ged was posting under a different nick or maybe several nicks? That would be the only reason he needed to log on to this site.
