Well as it wont effect you, it wont be you.

For those folks working outside their area, well they can apply to license in the area they work, so it shouldn't bother them.

The real losers, and I will take great joy in their situation, are operators who undercut the existing trade by employing drivers from elsewhere.

If it wasn't Xmas day today I would say f**k em, but it is so I wont.

As has been documented on this site since it's birth ( :D ) I'm not a great fan of the Unite union, however on this issue I applaud all the work they have done to get this issue to where it is.

Why you ask?

Well I have just read the submission sent to the Trans Comm from Delta of Sefton, in which they say they do 8,500,00 million jobs a year, with 1700 drivers, which equates to 13 jobs each a day.

At, say, £4 a job those drivers are living on 'slave' wages, and it's nothing short of a national disgrace this mob are being blown up by some as being what operators should aim for.

They are the gutter end of the market and they need to be bought to task.

And now everyone will be able to read Delta's submission.

And see how they appear to be big fans of everything green, but not on drivers earnings.
