Train drivers are reknown for kicking up a fuss and what exactly do they know about taxis :? The fourth members being the committee what do they know about taxis too. I don't think it was a harsh assessment of the group at all

Still when we have a one tier system at least everyone on TDO will be happy.......dead......or in other jobs.....but happy.

Did everyone on TDO arrange for the committee to be convened?

That said I would be more than pleased with a one tier system, even though I'm sure it will never happen.

I think even within a one tier system there will be differences that will make it unequal and it's the balancing out of the inequality that will cause problems. The fact that there is a PH trade, and a large one at that, shows that for a taxi trade to succeed it needs to be flexible in it's approach to customer, local and driver needs.

It would be most welcomed.

I think when a certain union meets up with one of their members, who just happens to be a member of that committee, they should ask him to also ask that question.

Maybe he could also point this out should they keep banging on about the best way forward. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/n ... 17967.aspx

Study of the role of taxis in journey choices
Taxi strategy is a special area of expertise and studies have been carried out for a number of local authorities. Evidence has also been prepared and presented as an expert witness in court cases.

First question they should ask her is "How many Taxi trips do you take per annum?"

My guess would be so few that for all intents and purposes, it could realistically be stated as "Sod all".

Is there a VRQ, NVQ or Btec of which I am unaware?

If there is, is it funded?
