Just wondering if it's only Sussex and me (and pehaps CC).

Are the rest of you getting something down on "virtual" paper?

I did mine......not gonna be popular, particularly the bit about invading France, plus the explosions, but I did it none the less.

TBH I'm not sure the committee want bundles of info, just sensible suggestions on a way forward.

They know the problems, just need the trade to point out the solutions.

As most of you will be aware we are being bombed out by PH operating on another districts plate picking up and dropping off outside their area.

We've had this problem for years and years but the Council seem blind as to what's going on.

One PH from outside the district was at a tariff change arranged by our Council on Wednesday afternoon. I had to laugh when I pulled in the car park.

You can hardly stop them dropping off in your district it's the customers choice where they want to go. In fact I don't see a problem with them picking up in your district either. I do however think that PH should not sit in areas that they are not licensed for unless they have a booking there, I also don't think it is right for out of area companies to advertise in other areas via billboards, posters etc

We're talking Ashfield here though, its perfectly acceptable for out of town PH and HC's......but if you have the gall to be licensed in Ashfield....you're considered a b*stard.

They are waiting for jobs in an area where they aren't licensed. All credit to the Council they are trying to nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand.

Let's hope they wait on double yellow lines.

I did say that I think PH should not sit in areas that they are not licensed for unless they have a booking. As for the councils trying to nip it in the bud I think it's like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted, you only have to look at Liverpool, and the effect Delta have on it, to see this

So how many of you made a submission?

I did.

My local association did.

So, a running total of Two.

Pretty certain the GMB did, and it was exactly six full pages.

Be interesting to see who gets an invite to the party.

Is all this just about self-interest and limiting competition?
