I'm getting old and grouchy - if the DfT had any sense (which they dont because they're listening to spivs and multi-nationals), they'd look at this site and realise what people who love this trade, and work in this trade actually think.

To be honest StuartW, when the Captain was young and grouchy, he wasn't diplomatic.

In any dealings or communications with officialdom, I've have always been diplomatic and moderate in tone.

These days I don't really bother dealing or communicating with them at all. At least if I can avoid it :-o

I get the frustration when you are dealing with people who you know won't take a blind bit of notice of what you are saying.

I also share the Captain's view that the DfT is only interested in the large multi-zoned PH firms.
