I believe that the best way is for all councils to introduce a by law preventing them from even applying for a taxi or PH licence, unless they are born here or born to british nationals, and can obtain a full CRB that would put a stop to it overnight.

Which is why I can't understand the gov guidance sent out in relation to bouncer licenses.

That said if the backgroud can't be fully checked then a council can refuse to license. :?

Whether we like it or not we are all EU members and nothing will change that.
Therefore we all have the right to move around, but personally i will be staying in this country as it is still the best  (But if i win the lottery who knows  )

yes i thought so !!!

while i understand your issue with people from outside the UK, and have felt like that myself in the past. as a operaters point of view who has grown his business to near 400 cars and no longer can get the drivers to meet the demand !
you yourself would slowly change your mind if its all about your future and sucess in business

i must also say, it was, and is, refreshing to have drivers from the EU that are keen to work unlike the british applications that dont really want to get of there arses and work you also have the drvers that are out there that have a bloody chip on their shoulder thinking its them thats doing the public a favor by taking them from A to B in there cars

so while you look after only yourself skippy, you must take your blinkers off and get wise to the views relating to the indusrty and its needs outside your scotish borders

The borders are just about fecked, well they are in my zone, there are now 109 cabs for a population of 16,000, and there is nothing we can do against a council that hands plates out as if they are going out of fashion.
I only work 4 days a week, and only go out to cover phone calls the rest of the time now, because you just cannot get onto a 9 car rank.

btw have you though about down loading the google spell checker

A bit rich for someone with 400 cars to accuse someone with one car of "looking only after yourself"?
