I may be wrong but i get the impression that those with the money intend to hang onto it, the jobs ive had from the biggest houses with the most merc saloons on the drive tip the least, the only "sir" ive carried obviously forgot his wallet, yet the elderly, and (for want of a better word) "common" passenger usually slips a few quid....

That's the way of it I'm afraid, cheap ppl are wealthy ppl and vice versa, you just reminded me of some old Welsh woman who lived in a £300k house 20 years ago whose son seemed to have a new Merc every 6 months but always struggled to find the £1.20p discounted £1.30p fare back then and always reminded me of how expensive we were and that the bus was only 40p.
To the other two replies
I aim for a fiver to return, haven't enforced it yet although I believe the bylaws state items returned lost are charged at distance to return or £5.
And as for the up it's backside woman you had Grumpy, don't you just find the country filling up with ppl like her? British ppl I may add not foreigner's, no doub't she watches a lot of Britain's got talent etc and thinks shes a judge, revel in the fact the idle spoilt lazy cow will become Fern Britton before long and have a messed up head because she can't shift all those WKD blues.
